General Club Information

The Cruisin' Tigers GTO Club, Inc., headquartered in the greater Chicago, IL area, was formed in April, 1989 by six GTO enthusiasts as a chapter of The GTO Association of America. In the years that followed we have grown to be the largest, and some would say the most active, chapter in the Nation. We are honored to have been selected as Chapter of the Year in 1991, 1996,1999, 2002 and 2007.

Our proudest accomplishment is our history of targeted giving specifically aimed at supporting needy children. Learn about our Tigers For Kids charity efforts by visiting Home/Charity Work. We would be delighted if you would monetarily support this cause.

Our club acts as a source of information, and inspiration, to its members through personal contact, Monthly Meetings, our 7 time Golden Quill Award winning monthly news letter, a well rounded Staff and this website. Our annual All Pontiac Indian Uprising Car Show is second to none, learn all about our show by visiting Home/Our Show. We also frequently "cruise" locally and our annual Membership Christmas Party is always a big hit. Learn more at  Home/Events/Local/Christmas.

We have approximately 225+ members, which include Arnie "The Farmer" Beswick, Jim Wangers and others within the Pontiac family.  Our membership family resides, not only in Illinois and the greater Chicago area, but also in Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Florida, Arizona, Ohio, New York and California. How about it,  Join Us today!

About This Site

This is a "home grown" site.  We did not have the resources necessary to hire a professional to create and/or maintain our site; we still don't. Our options were to create a site ourselves or not have a site. Once our site structure was "on paper" we sought out a professional willing to act as an advisor on an "as needed" basis to keep us from making any major blunders.  We are grateful to Pat Hanika for her initial advice and encouragement.

The site you are visiting was created using Microsoft FrontPage.  I guess you could call this version #6 of our site.  Once we had the site operational, we continued to learn how to make it look and act better. The site you are viewing now underwent a major clean-up, paint-up, fix-up which began is March of 2009. As everyone involved with a website knows, it is never really finished.

The vast majority of the pictures in this site were scanned into Adobe Photoshop for manipulation.  Some were directly downloaded into Photoshop from a Olympus digital camera. The forms which you can download and print locally are created using Adobe Acrobat.

If you have any questions or would like to make a comment please use this e-mail address - web_design@cruisintigersgto.com (if clicking this link does not open an e-mail creation page on your system - enter this address directly in your e-mail program).
